Creating visual hierarchy can be achieved in a number of ways.  Hierarchy can be created by size, color, weight, contrast, alignment and proximity or a combination of these methods. Size is one of the simplest ways to create hierarchy.  Larger items on a page will be noticed first. Color is another way to create hierarchy.
